while looking at how adjectives with irregular consonant ending change when you conjugate them, I noticed that most of the times that consonant is erased and instead a ㅇ+vowel is added. how do I know if that vowel should be ㅜ or ㅡ?

for example:
낫다 becomes 나은
쉽다 becomes 쉬운
길다 becomes 긴 without the adding of ㅇ+vowel.

can someone explain this to me?
