These two answers are basically the same thing, depending on who you are talking to you might answer differently. For example in a professional setting, you would most likely use the answer “I’m well” since well is an adverb and what is technically grammatically correct. Good is an adjective which is a descriptive word, we need to use adverbs to modify verbs not descriptive words such as “good”.

It's a little unnatural. You should say I'm doing good. It's really not that different, both those sentences are correct and can be used while speaking

@Vanessa_Crowe Thank you for explaining the difference of two words. Those have Same meaning but different. I don't know it exactly but know a little. Thx

You’ll hear people use both of them interchangeably, and they both sound natural.
“I am good” is technically the correct response to “How are you?”
But if the question is “How are you doing?” then “I’m doing well” is grammatically correct.

I'm well is more proper. However both can mean the same thing. I'm good can refer to a persons character (I am a good person), a person's health or situation (I am doing good), or can be used to say he or she does not want something (Q:would you like a drink? A: I'm good.) I'm well will always refer to how you are doing. I hope this helps.

Thank you for teaching me.
Q:would you like a drink?
A: I'm good. = That's good = That sounds good. Am I right?
Q: How are your sisters?
A: They are well.
This is proper?

@caneskym if you ask someone if they want water and they say “I’m good” it means they do not want water. They are saying they are good - not thirsty, they don’t need anything, they are content as they are.
“That’s good” would not be a natural answer to the question. If someone said “that’s good” you have a right to be confused. However, “that’s all right” means they don’t want water.
“That would be good” means they DO want water. “That sounds good” also means they want water. Those two are equivalent.
Your sisters example is perfectly correct and polite.

Q: would you like a drink?
A: I'm good=no thank you I'm good
it's basically a lazy way of saying thank you for offering but I'm not thirsty at the moment.

@AnnieKate76
Thank you for your kind reply. I got it.
That's good = That's all right <=> That would be good = That sounds good.

“I’m well” or “I’m doing well” sounds a lot more proper or formal than “I’m good” or “I’m doing good”. “Good” is grammatically incorrect there, but unless they’re in a formal setting people say it anyways.

If you are just asking "How are you?" in general, I'm good and I'm well express the same meaning. Just another way of saying the same expression.
