I have been studying Japanese for nearly 3 years, but I still get confused with this ?Sentiti libero di rispondere con un esempio.

に- in, at, to,
で- at (where an event takes place) etc.

に shows the location of something or where some exists or when a certain action is done in a certain direction.

で- shows location of where something took place or events that take places. (You can movie around sometimes in some cases).

ここで日本語を勉強するのが好きです。-I like to study Japanese here.

お姉さんはこのホテルで働いています。- My older sister works at this hotel.

あのお店でたくさんのお菓子を買います。- I buy a lot of snacks at that store.

Then に

カナダに行きたいです。
I want to go to Canada.

日本に住んでいます。
I live in Japan.

外に出るのが好きです。
I love going outside.

中国はここにあります。
China is here.
