Is there any saying, proverb or maxim in English meaning, "Once trouble (distress , disaster or pain) is gone , you will easily forget it?"
It also a bit implies, "You will learn nothing from that."
In Japan , we say, "喉元過ぎれば熱さを忘れる。(nodomoto sugireba atusa wo wasureru)"
It literally means, when you put something hot in your mouth by mistake and have hard time for a while, you don't feel that any more once you swallow it, (and will make the same mistakes again and again.)

The closest we have is "out of sight, out of mind" (ことが見えなかったら、忘れる). The internet suggests "danger past, and god forgotten," but I have never heard that before.
