Domande Inglese (Stati Uniti)
I have a question of "Used to" which means a habit and what I often did in the past.
How far is this past? Can I use things one year ago, 2 years ago, or more than 5 years ago?

Yes you can. It can be as far back in your life as you want.
For example, I sometimes say "I used to live in Vietnam when I was a child." That was about 12 years ago, but I still say "used to".

Any time in the past is fine, but probably not in the very near past.
1. I used to cry a lot when I was a baby.
2. I used to ride my bike as a child.
3. I used to drink coffee last week. (No, this is strange)
4. I used to drink coffee last month. (Also a bit strange)
5. I used to drink coffee last year. (OK)
There needs to be enough time between the past and now for the action to be a habit. (This is not a hard rule, I'm just saying this is the feeling that I have from the sentences above.)

Thank you for your comments. How about 3 years ago. Here is the sentence I want to creat.
I used to work with him until 3 years ago. So I'm familiar with him.
