well I work at a fast food place and there's a lot of business, I would say average American probably eats our three to four times a week. a lot of people get fast food when they are busy, here on the States Fridays are busiest

I go to actual fast food places maybe once a week. If I do eat out though, I normally eat at sandwich shops and cafes, not fast food places.

once a week for me for most average people but plenty have cut it out of their diets completely

It varies a lot from person to person, region to region, and even more between classes. I tend to eat fast food 1-2 times a month.

I do t believe these answers are at all representative. I think the Average American probably goes to fast food at least 3 times a week. A lot of them probably go 8 more times.

@terry2016 It really depends on where you're from, though. If you live in middle America, you probably eat fast food quite often. If you're in the lower classes, you probably eat fast food quite often. But if you're comfortably middle class or better off, you most likely don't.

I guess it also depends on what you mean by fast food. When I hear "fast food" I think McDonalds and Taco Bell and the like. I don't think pizza, even though that's food that is fast.

But if we're not counting chinese food and pizza and stuff like that, it's extremely dependent on where and how you live. If you live in a wealthy suburb like Westchester or Long Island, you very rarely eat fast food.
