Qual è la differenza tra mold(mould) e mildew e fungus ?Sentiti libero di rispondere con un esempio.

I read a thread(https://hinative.com/ko/questions/9516623?feedb...) on "mildew" and "mold" but I cannot figure out the difference exactly in real life usage.
Is the only difference the color? Or is there any distinct differentiation between the two when they are used in real life? And how about "fungus"?

I am sorry to ask you if I the topic is too complicated.

Most people associate mold with being dark, slimy, furry. It appears on old food, or dead material. Mildew is a milder, white fungus that grows near wet or damp things.

@SpencerChamp Thank you for the clear solution!
So as to sum up your answer even to a bit over-simplified extent, can I say that people would use "mildew" for lighter and safer ones where people don't get much alert or sense of danger, and that people would use "mold" for heavy or a bit serious ones where people automatically feel alert like thinking it would be dangerous to eat the food with them on. Am I understanding it right?
