It's funny to ask this but I've heard that some people in Korea most likely listen to American music and like it more than kpop, is that true? or if you're reading this and you relate, is it true for you?

I'm not sure what kpop stands for. Does it mean songs by idols? or include every Korean songs?
Anyway, it totally depends on people. There are many Koreans who prefer kpop rather than American or British pop. But for me, I really like Britpop and rarely listen to kpop. 'Cause that's my taste lol. It's just a matter of personal taste.

@Sunnny Yeah Kpop basically every Korean pop song by any solo artist, duo, or group😂

That's what I would assume because I only heard from a friend who vists Korea often😜

Sometimes I feel like Korean pop culture is way too obsessed with performance and lookism and it has gone too far. But I still stick to listening to it.

Kpop boy/girl groups do not represent the whole Korean pop culture.

Music is still a means of communication here. We are lured by Korean songs that we really can understand and find the meanings implied in lyrics other than anything.

So I have to say Koreans listen to Murican songs more than Kpop is untrue :)

I've been living in Korea for almost 5 months now and I've only mostly heard American music. Especially in cafés lol
