Hey, I’m here from your other question. When you feature something nobody can respond anymore, so I have to come here to answer it.
You asked “what is the difference between pelt and pelt down with rain?”
You can be pelted with rain. Heavy rain will pelt you. You can also pelt somebody with something by hitting them.
“Pelt down” sounds unnatural. If you say pelt the person knows that the thing being pelted is being hit by what is pelting them, so “down” would be omitted.
- Russo
He pelted them with stones.
The rain pelted while l was watching a TV.
The rain is pelting outside. Turn off the TV(or turn the TV off what is better?)
Stop pelting us with stones!
Stop those boys pelting pelting stone's at the poor cat.
He pelted me with lotta questions .
They sound natural or not?
What do,,at full pelt/full pelt/in full pelt,, mean?

@balanukaesad023 They sound natural.
“The rain poured” is better than “the rain pelted” if you aren’t talking about the rain pelting something like you or the ground.
You would say “he pelted me with a lotta questions” instead of “with lotta questions.”
I have never heard at full pelt, full pelt and in full pelt being used. If something is pelting something, it is already intense and “full.”

What is better:Turn off the light or turn the light off or turn on the light or turn the light on?
- Inglese (Stati Uniti)
@balanukaesad023 All of those answers are how a native speaker would word it. You can say either one. I’ve never heard anybody say it in other ways
- Russo
- Inglese (Stati Uniti)
@balanukaesad023 That’s kind of odd. I can only think of it being used in one way, in a conversation like this:
“Hey.”
“Hi. I’m not very good at conversation.”
“That’s okay, just mingle your way. You don’t need to act a way you don’t want to.”

@balanukaesad023 Whoever said that enjoyed eating on a date, but it didn’t go well. It might have been boring or bad after. The fun “fizzled out” and disappeared

@balanukaesad023 If the champagne fizzled out, it is no longer fizzy. When you pour soda or something it is fizzy, and it stops.
It can also mean less popular.
You can say both of those things

When he broke his leg, his excitement just fizzled out.
Perfect!
The wood bed has fizzled out 14 years ago.
It’s better to say “broke down” when talking about an object or building.
His food just fizzled out.
If it’s a drink that fizzles. You would say any carbonated drink fizzled out.
He thought that he killed someone. But his thoughts just fizzled out.
Perfect!
The light flickered in the sky and then fizzled out.
Perfect!
The firework was great but then it fizzled out.
Perfect!
He was a good cooker but then he fizzled out.
Good, but it’s more natural to say “his skills fizzled out.”

Perfect!
His promise just fizzled out when he broke it.

Good! You would say “they were”
He was very skillful but it fizzled out.
You have to say what the skill was. It could be “he was good at painting, but his skill fizzled out.”
The government's reforms just fizzled out.
Perfect!
His behavior fizzled out after being a bully.
That needs detail. “Behavior” is vague here.
The party was fun. But it fizzled out falling tables with food.
It’s more natural to say “it fizzled out when the tables fell with the food”
Her manners fizzled out after hanging out in a club.
That’s vague, like the behavior one. “Manners” can mean many things. You can say her energy fizzled out
The car(the TVset) fizzled out.
Good!
l don't know why but his motivation for learning language just fizzled out.
Perfect!
Our meeting just fizzled out when no one came.
Perfect!

Hi, what's the difference between pay and pony up?
- Inglese (Stati Uniti)
@balanukaesad023 If you’re saying “pay up” you’re just asking somebody to pay you for something. It’s not polite though.
I’ve never heard pony up, but a pony is a small horse
- Russo

@balanukaesad023 That’s hard to explain. Someone can skid down a road; that’s the only use I can think of.
Skid = a vehicle sliding. A vehicle is sliding down the road.
Skidding is bad, it means you stopped or turned too fast in the vehicle.
