Being "about to do" something implies that there will be some time before you do it. "Going to do" can be used in the same way, though it may be more immediate. I might use, "I'm going to the store, do you need anything?" as I'm walking out the door. But I might say, "I'm about to go to the store" when I'm still sitting at the table, to mean that I'm going in a little while. This use may vary though, and the two phrases are very similar.

Going to means physically going somewhere "I'm going to the bathroom". Or it could mean you will do something-"I'm going to do my homework now".
"To be about to" is not used at all. I assume you mean the similar meaning to "I'm going to".
You can say "I'm about to do my homework" or "It is about to snow outside". The difference is this phrase doesn't deal with physically going one place to another usually

'Going to' is just the future tense whereas 'about to' implies that you really do intend to do something and that it is about to happen.
