Generally speaking, it should be the government of Hong Kong, because Hong Kong has not been particularly stable. They always want to leave mainland China. But the people of our mainland have always felt that without the support of the mainland, Hong Kong would decline particularly severely. So we have always thought that it would be foolish for Hong Kong to leave the mainland. But Hong Kong has always been an integral part of China's territory. It is our duty to protect it and to fight for the integrity of our territory.

Firstly you should understand people’s perspectives are not necessarily defined by their behaviour. Eg. A person may stop you from drinking coke, either because they wanna drink them all themselves, or they just want you to be healthy. So the answer is , there is so such a specific group of people with a “naming tag” who are against the demonstrations, but a variety of groups of people doing it for different reasons, eg. There are people who do not care what the city is and just want the demo to stop so that they could continue to make money; also there are people love this city so much and want it to stop to make it as safe and comfortable as before. So be open and broad your horizon, the world is full of complexity and possibilities, and so do human beings.

谢谢 for your replies !! It is really deep and interesting !
I mean, I heard many time by videos and conversations that chines DON’T want, as you told me @1227651053qq, that HK leave chines.
But they have « 5 demands and no one less ». They want democracy but chines government is not democracy. Am I right ?
They demand a total liberty about China and them.
How many days do you think it can last ? 1month ? 3 month ? 1 year ? Do you think, they can have their 5 demands accept ?
You talk about money @IOEL but How can they have still money ? I mean they stopped to work. How they do to eat ? To live ? Without pay ?
Thank you so much! 😊

as 2 answers above, there are a lot of groups that are against this demonstration. Technically, China Mainland, CCP and country like Russia is supporting HK government.
This demonstration could be affected by things a year ago. There was a murder of a HK couple which was happened in Taiwan. HK does not have the right to accuse murderer cuz he was returned to HK and there was no law between HK and Taiwan about fugitive and extradition. HK government was mean to set a law to deal with the murder and future things, but a number of HK people thinks HK government was controlled by Chinese government to deal with the US, which was caused by HUAWEI's Meng Wanzhou. These people think that China is regarding HK as a chess, if the law was accepted, HK will lose its independence.
People who support the demonstration claim that they will fight for freedom of sth like that, I can't say it's completely wrong but it's obviously just thinking them selves.
As a Chinese, I either can't say China is completely right, but it's clearly a smart move for HK and China both. China has " 1 China 2 systems', means China mainland we are Communism but for HK and Macau they run a different system cause the historic reasons. HK is a part of China since hundreds of years ago, though HK WAS controlled by the UK, HK came back at 1997. This demonstration was mean to give HK more rights, but soon it became a demonstration of let HK become a independent country and break China apart. HK is a very important part to Both China and Asia, HK government and Chinese government, even the US government know it. If HK became a independent country, it will lose the support of China, countries regard HK as a part of China and Taiwan. As an important part of China which was took back by Chinese people, of course China would not like to leave it alone. Protect it and fight for the integrity is a duty of every Chinese. Also, it's good for HK, especially there was such a murder happened but HK have no right to deal with.

If you are so interested in what has happened in HK, I suggest that you’d better go there to see by your own eyes. If you are so interested in Chinese people’ opinion about what has happened in HK, I have to tell you that your question is so inappropriate 。I think everyone in China know what your real purpose is.

@Jenny_lao_ba I’m sincerely sorry, if I was disrespectful with you and chines people.
I honestly asked this question without any background purpose !
I can’t go right now in HK otherwise I wouldn’t ask it. I put simply a question about a really deep and interesting topic. And I think it is the useful of this application to ask questions and have replies. But I seriously apologise if I disturbed you.
Anyway, 谢谢 for you reply.

I’ve been following this topic for a long time and have done some research. I have something to say about this.
I’ll provide some historical facts to begin with. In the mid-19th century, British government wanted to sell opium in China, Qing Dynasty at the time. Qing government didn’t want to buy opium and made it illegal, but there were smugglers who brought opium into China. In 1839, Lin Zexu (a Qing Dynasty official) destroyed about 1200 tons of opium in public, which made the British traders furious. This is also viewed as a direct cause of the Opium Wars. Then the British government declared war and sent troops to China. The Qing Dynasty lost the Opium Wars in the end, and the British forced China to cede Hong Kong (which belonged to China with no disagreement at that time). Eventually, HK became a British colony (Treaty of Nanking). Two governments also agreed at that time that HK should be returned to China after 99 years, so China claimed HK back in 1997. Then, the whole China-HK conflict has never been settled.
It’s also important to note that when China claimed HK back, Chinese government decided to manage HK under a ‘one country, two systems’ principle. This principle states that HK would have its own government, laws, economic system, and can trade with foreign nations independently. Members of HK government are HK citizens and create their own laws to regulate HK. Chinese government does play a role in appointing the winner of HK government Election Committee to be the Chief Executive.

This year, the protest began with the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill Movement. This bill is introduced because a HK man killed a woman in Taiwan and went back to HK. HK government couldn’t send him to jail because HK didn’t have extradition agreements with mainland China and Taiwan. In order to fix this, HK government introduced this law. It’s also important to note that offenders with political charges are not subject to this law. It’s only for murderers and other felons. Detailed information about this law is accessible online.
This directly lead to the 2019 protest. At first, it was a peaceful protest. However, it has become out of control and violent lately. In November, the armed protesters blocked railways and roads, set fire on subways and subway stations, poured gasoline on an innocent people (a local citizen with different opinions) and set him on fire, stabbed HK government officials, turned universities into warzones, attacked HK policemen with bombs, and exposed personal information of family members of HK policemen online (I will include pictures as evidence). The protesters are mainly high school students and college students.

What I mentioned above are factual statements based on what actually happened.
Next, I'll express my own opinions. I'm Chinese. I love my country. I'm not neutral on this topic. I personally support 'One China' and the 'one country, two systems' principle. However, I respect others with their own political opinions. At the same time, I condemn violence and achieving any goals by violent measures. I condemn the HK protestors for hurting innocent people (random people on streets, including tourists and local citizens with disagreements), but I don't condemn them for their political standpoint. I've been to HK several times and I love HK. I also went to HK this summer (the protest was going on but not this violent yet at that time), but the subway stations are already a mess. I'm truly sad to see this incident happening.
I've also noticed a few things. 1. Western media is biased in reporting this. I read articles on CNN and BBC about this topic. To me, they always refer to HK protesters as 'pro-democracy' and Chinese government/HK government/HK policemen as 'anti-democracy.' Violence is definitely not democracy. They also include little information about how HK protestors destroyed their city and harmed local people. 2. YouTube has been censoring 'pro-China' information. A few 'pro-China' YouTubers had their subscribers manually removed and their videos are not as discoverable as other videos. I knew for long that YouTube has a censorship policy, which states that YouTube employees can manually censor improper videos. This censorship was originally directed at children pornography, but in this case, it's not a good application of the policy. You can see Nathan Rich's YouTube channel on this subject. He's an American guy living in China and has interesting viewpoints.

btw, I read a few responses above. I have to say that your question is NOT inappropriate. It's always a good thing to know about different views on a subject. Feel free to ask questions and express your views.
