Does anyone happen to know if there is a rule for the appearance of ë (instead of e) in the conjugation of verbs like жить?

Letter "ё" is written in second and third person forms in singular (you, he, she, it), and in first and second forms in plural (we, you) in first conjugation verbs. For example: живёшь, живёт, живём; несёшь, несёт, несём; клюёшь, клюёт, клюём.

Yes, thanks. My big problem is that some verbs have e instead of ё, like the verb 'to read'. I'm trying to find out if there's a rule that can help me decide which to use, e or ë. One thing I have figured out looking at my list of verbs, is that ë is always stressed whereas e seems to be unstressed whenever it appears in the ending of a verb.
