If someone asks me "Apa kabar?" .. I know I can answer with "baik-baik saja"

Are there other options... less formal options?

I heard about "Biasa saja" ... is that right? Are there other options?

You can just simply reply with “baik”. That’s the most standard answer.

If asked “apa kabar?” You could answer
Baik-baik saja or Baik. And then you could ask the same question to him/her.
Example:
Friend: Apa kabar?
You: Baik. Kamu apa kabar?

Biasa saja is okay, too, but I personally prefer “baik” or “baik-baik saja”.

I think that is the only common answers when asked apa kabar.

@pod7777 biasa saja is common too. But we tend to answer with baik to imply that we are in good health.
To me, when a friend say “biasa saja”, it means he’s okay, but not really okay. Like “so so”, or “i’ve had better days”, it’s like he doesn’t want to talk more about it.

Maybe this is just me, maybe other Indonesians think “biasa saja” is as common as “baik”. It really depends on the person. But yes, biasa saja is common, and informal. And no, biasa saja is not extremely informal. Just informal.

yes u can also using those 'biasa saja' as other option.. or 'yah, seperti biasa aku baik-baik saja' if u really feel like u're in a good condition

@pod7777 "Biasa saja" or "Biasa aja" more like "So so" .

Simply say "Baik" to say "I'm fine" and continue with "Kamu bagaimana?" or "Kamu?"

A way of saying "biasa saja" in a less formal way is by dropping the 's' and say, "biasa aja"

We tend to use "aja" instead of "saja" in everyday conversation.

Although, I feel like I don't really hear people say "biasa saja/aja" in response to "apa kabar?"

We usually either just go through the formalities by saying "baik" or go full story-time mode with our day/health/condition, etc

Other times I say:
- capek (the 'k' is silent): tired
- ngantuk: sleepy
- ya gitu deh: oh, you know... (and then you trail off, which may prompt the other speaker to ask what is going on, or you can just immediately follow with how you're doing)
so I guess that's an option
