"get over" means to put something out of your mind and stop thinking about it, or to stop worrying about it. For example: "It took me a year to get over my last boyfriend." "I just can't get over how scary that movie was."
"overcome" as in "overcome an obstacle" means "to achieve your goal(s) despite the obstacle making it difficult for you." For example, "I used to be afraid to speak English in public, but I overcame my fear and now I speak it all the time." "I want to be a scientist but I don't know if I can ever overcome my weakness in math." "If I'm determined, there's nothing that I can't overcome."
In some cases they are used synonymously, for example: "I overcame my fear of chickens and visited a farm." "I got over my fear of chickens and visited a farm." In this case, overcoming the fear and putting the fear out of your mind are exactly the same thing.
