Ive never heard "attached with" being used as a phrase to say they are "treating/serving"; however I think the first sentence sounds like the hospitals have treated a record number of patients OVERALL, like in the span of the hospital being in operation? And the second sentence sounds to be that the hospital is serving a record number of patience AT ONCE? I could be wrong but that's just my interpretation.
