Domande Inglese (Stati Uniti)
I've been being after similar phrases or slang to "Don't you say that", "You're one to talk", "Look who's talking", "That's not for you to say", "Says you" and "Do you hear yourself?". So could you tell me more words of this kind?

usually, people just tell the other person to "shut up". it is informal and a bit vulgar but it can also mean "i don't believe you". other example is " are you crazy?" people usually say this when they are surprised by what the other person said. hope this helps!

@iva0317 Maybe you misunderstand what I'm looking for. Phrases I'm looking for is something that can be used like when I'm talking to my friend and he's overweight and then a fat guy walks by and he says "look at how tight that guys shirt is on him" so I tell him "you're one to talk"

oh okay sorry I misunderstood! you can say, "have you looked in a mirror lately?" or " why don't you take a look at yourself?" something like that.

@iva0317 Oh, I see! Thanks! Can those be used only when talking about appearance? If my friend tells me to tidy my room and his room is also messy usually, what can I say? Sorry for a lot of questions😅

the phrases you said before like "don't say that" or "you're one to talk" can also be used for things other than appearances. like for example, when you and your friend have not studied for an exam, but then he says " I will get an A in this test", but you know he hasn't been studying, you can say " you're one to talk" or "says you", as if mocking him. 😊
usually though slang phrases like these refer to appearances. 😊
