‘till is a shorter way of saying until. They are interchangeable because they are basically the same word.

“'till” is short for “until”
However, “to Till” means “labranza”

“Until” & “ ‘til” are actually the same; the ‘ shows the word is shortened (contracted). It means condition A will either continue or cease except when condition B is met. You must have A to have B, but you do not need B to have A.
This is called an “if/then” conditional statement in logic.
X = NOT obtaining outcome B
Example:
“ (A) IF you do not study, (X) THEN you will fail.”
“ (A) IF you study lots, (B) THEN you will succeed.”
“ (B) UNTIL you study lots, (X) THEN you will continue to fail.”
IF/THEN in math:
IF 2+2 = 4, THEN 4-2=2.
UNTIL you add (+) 2 & 2 together, THEN you will not get 4.
Other examples of until:
“‘Til our goal of $10,000 is reached, we will not receive funding from the government.”
“You will not be allowed to eat dessert Tommy until you eat all your vegetables.”
“‘Til” is a shortened version —- a CONTRACTION — of “Until.” It is just like how “It was” becomes “‘Twas. ”
An example of “‘Twas”:
“‘Twas the night 🌃 before Christmas 🎄,
And all through the house 🏡
Not a creature 🐈 was stirring 🐾—
Not even a mouse!”🐁
“Till” is an entirely different word than “‘Til”, as “‘Til” is actually “Until.” “Till” simply sounds identical to “‘Til”.
“Till” also has a couple different meanings.
1. “Till”; the part of the cash register were the cash is kept during the day.
“When you are locking up the store at close (the closing time), make sure to empty out the till before you leave.”
2. “Till” as in to work the earth; move soil. A technique used in gardening and farming.
“Make sure to till the flowerbed first before adding the seeds; You want to get rid of any weeds.”
“The farmer toiled and laboured all day, tilling his strawberry fields from dawn ‘til dusk.”
3. “Tilly” - a girls name!
“Tilly and I are going to the movies tomorrow.”

@kmrkinsinger Do you think that the Reader is going to understand all of the words you said? They’re level 1 on English (US)

@Connor_Jones I put the actual words in “ “ on purpose, so he can translate the rest. However, the sentences are still also valid real life examples of how these words may be used in English. It’s also why I mentioned that “until” is similar to an “if/then” statement, as it’s an easy theory to look up that is used across languages because of its applications in coding/computer programming & math. That’s also why I used the math example. It’s easier to translate the single words “then” and “if” to quickly understand the math problems. I also kept the math as simple as possible (I’m not a strong mathy myself!!). However, I’m not above reproach, and if it’s too much I understand. That being said I’m always happy to simplify something or provide clarification if needed. I’m not trying to make things harder, I’m truly trying to answer the question as best I can & to help as much as I can! 😊 Hope this clears things up a bit lol. Sorry for writing you a mini novel!! 😂😭😭😭

So "til" is the same as "until". But "till" is a different word, right?
- Inglese (Stati Uniti)
@Sergio00 simply put...till and until are the same thing. You don’t see many people writing “til.”

@kmrkinsinger Oh okay, I hope I didn’t come by as being rude, I was just trying to look through their eyes. :)
- Inglese (Stati Uniti)
@Sergio00 Yup! Just add the ‘ before to make it ‘Til. So ‘Til versus Till. All the best! 😉✨

@JoyHarbin Thanks to everybody for your help.

@Connor_Jones Can’t seem to reply to you for some reason (sorry!). Must be a glitch. Anyways, it’s all good - I understand what you were trying to do and your concerns (which were totally valid). I actually appreciate the feedback. I know I have a tendency to be ... ... ... verbose, to say the least. 😅😂😭

@kmrkinsinger It just sounded a bit intimidating, maybe to foreign speakers. 😅

@Connor_Jones Totally understand what you mean haha.
