@IsraeldeAraujo I stand corrected. Some people do use an uppercase E/ee sound there. I use a lowercase i, making an "in" sound. mar jar in.

Example. the sound of the two e's in green. A word like shield uses an "ie" combination to make the same sound. I can't think of an instance where "i" makes that sound. Y often does make that sound , example "slimy" and sometimes an uppercase i sound, example "style"

@IsraeldeAraujo You are correct, I didn't realize I had a schwa in there. To my ear it still ends in rin. I will say rin and rine.

@IsraeldeAraujo The upside down and backwards e in the phonetic spelling is the sound your hearing. d3 is the character for the English J sound.

@COASTBC I'm still learning to read the ipa, It is very helpful when it comes to understand how words sound

@IsraeldeAraujo Me too, still learning. It's more difficult for you and I. It uses the same characters as our own alphabets. If we were Japanese or Arabic it would be easier I think. The vowel list is the important one. Example. My name is Jim. phonetically. d3Im. That's a bit difficult to get used to. Plus my I is not exactly the correct character. It should be a double crossed i to represent lowercase i sound.
