Could you explain what "You were rushing to lick honey off a razor’s edge." means?

I read another quote saying,
“Attachment is like honey on a razor blade. The honey tastes so sweet as we’re licking it off the blade, but simultaneously we’re hurting ourselves."

But in this quote below, it's not clear what they want to say... thank you very much for your help!

Only when you see that obsession brings suffering in the end, will you be able to drop it.
You were rushing to lick honey off a razor’s edge.
