Is it okay for a Korean (26 years old) to date a foreigner (18 years old) or does Korea have a specific age gap? By the way, they are both okay with the relationship, but my friend is a bit hesitant about it since she does not want any hate opinions about them dating. it is legal. maybe not widely accepted when you’re in your twenties. as you get older, less people will care about that kind of age gap. 8 years becomes nothing when you’re 40.

But the age gap clearly does matter to you since an 18-year-old could date an 18-year-old and receive no negative comments. Whereas an 18-year-old dating higher would, even though it’s legal for them to date higher. If it’s legal and it gets hate, it’s because of the age-gap.

Have you ever heard of "grooming crime"? 
There are countless cases happen on every single day. 
From where I stand, Adults dating minors is pedophila. Pedophilla is an attraction to minors, not an action. The action would be statuary rape, sexual assault, grooming. Pedophilla is by definition not an action.
This is not a personal thing but a matter that requires substantial legal sanctions. So yes, there's no immotal,romantic thing between 18-year-old girl and 38-year-old man. People need to know this to cut off grooming abuse.
