1- they are used alone (without reflexive pronoun)
2- they are used with Akkustaiv reflexive pronoun
3- they are used with Dativ reflexive pronoun

The difference between 1&2 is very small, I would use one in place of the other without thinking twice. The difference to 3 is obvious, isn't it? 4&5 don't say anything about which clothes.
The same applies to "ausziehen".
6. Ich ziehe die Hose (A) um. - 7. Ich ziehe mich (A) um. - 8. Ich ziehe das Kind (A) um.
6 is changing the trousers, maybe they got wet in the rain. 7 is changing into new clothes, for example before going to the opera. 8 same as 7, for another person.

Other meanings without object:
Ich ziehe ein = I am moving into a new apartment/house
Ich ziehe aus = I am moving out of my old apartment/house
Ich ziehe um = I am moving from the old apartment/house into a new one

There are a few other meanings to ein-/aus-/umziehen, but these are the main ones.
