Advice is things you tell someone that you encourage them to do.

“My advice is that you go to the gym so you can stay healthy.”

Suggestions are things you encourage someone to do, but you don’t necessarily care if they do it or not. It’s just for them to think about.

“My suggestion is that he goes to the gym, but if he doesn’t, that’s okay, that’s his choice”
