I understood verb aspects of verbs quite well, but somehow I don't know how to apply that to their infinite tense. например:

"Она кончила читать" = "Она прочитала".
Прочитала - the past tense of "прочитать" for female nouns.
In your case "читать" = "reading" and "кончила" = "finished". So, your example can be translated like "she (has) finished reading".
P.S. It's better to speak "закончила" in your case.

Оба варианта верны. Закончила читать и прочитала.
Слово "кончить" очень спорное. Означает сексуальное удовлетворение. Не стот его употреблять))
