@arrooj_56 "Laz kızı" means a girl(daughter) whose father is a Laz.
P.S. Laz is a name of race, like Turk and they usually live in northern part of Turkey.

Laz is a race originally but in Turkey we call people from Karadeniz Region (Trabzon, Rize) Laz too. They have a strong dialect. They are Turks.

@moonchild0 Are you sure about that? If you try to explain that Laz people "sub ethnic" and being Turkish in Turkey is "supraethnic" (or supra-identity), I'd say you're right. We're all Turkish. But, it doesn't mean there is no Laz,Circassian,Chechen,Georgian, (etc.) descended people. You cannot ignore their existence. Also, Turkey (Anatolia) located in the center of the (Before new world has been discovered) Earth and this place is a melting pot to all kind of people who lived in Turkey regardless of their race, descend such as Romans, Lycians,Hittites,Turks (from different tribes, klans), Levantens, Arabs, Georgians, Armenians, Kurds, Persians ,Greeks, Ezidies, Assyrians, etc. They have been lived and they have been living in this land which we call "Türkiye".

I know this. and I'm not ignoring their existence wtf? if you say they are from another race it is nonsense to me since there are no people left who are pure-blooded in this world and especially in Turkey like??? if you say that they are from another race to a foreigner it may give the meaning like they don't belong here/it's not their hometown. BUT IT IS. you have to proof that you're pure-blooded before telling other people they are not Turks.

@cansay5 I'm also sure there are other races in your blood too so you're not a Turk too then? for me I'm a Turk which came from Orta Asya. I have Asian eyes and stuff which represents the real Turkish physical appearances better and still for me they are Turks if they say they are. well in this case almost every one of them say they are Turks, they speak Turkish, they represent Turkish culture, they wear Turkish clothes, they cook Turkish food. so I can't see the problem to call them Turks.

sıkıyosa bi laza gidip sen Türk değilsin de. evet Türkiyede yaşayan bi yunana bi ermeniye türk değilsin diyebilirsin. ben de onlara Türk demedim zaten. fakat bi Laza Türk değilsin dersen sonucu hayal edemiyorum lol.

@moonchild0 What? Do you even read what you typed? Tell me, How come "Şemmamê" is Turkish? How come "Horon" is Turkish? How come "Töre cinayetleri(Honor killing)" is Turkish?
How come "Berdel" is Turkish? I think you are well-educated person which I admire and you made some points which I agree. But, you cannot say these things related or even (somehow) affiliated with Azerbaijan,Turkmenistan people. Have you ever heard that kind of things in those places from Tv news or social media? Are you sure that they are Turkish?
I don't say I'm pure-blood Turkish. How's that possible in this world? You cannot learn (even guess) your 9 time grandfather married with! I'm only saying that there are so many race/tribe live in Turkey and almost every single of them try to preserve their culture, language, food, etc.
And, there is scientific explanation that who is Turkish who is Turkic and who is Turanic.
Turanic people splits 3 = Turkish,Turkic,Hun (actually more than 3 but I couldn't recall their name right now, sorry)
Turkish people = Turkey, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, some part of Iran, etc.
Turkic people = Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan, some part of Mongolia, etc.
Hun= Hungaria, China,Japan,Korea, etc.
You're probably one of the people which called "Turkic" people. And, you are welcome. We all welcome! Because, you live in this life only once and I think there should be no room for racism. But, this is my point which I try to explain, there are people which have different descend from the majority of Turkish people who live in Turkey and they are trying to preserve their language and culture. And, you cannot say those people (even married to a Turkish people,) became a Turkish just because of having common %0.00001 DNA with the Turkish. That is the very definition of the assimilation. However, if you had said that a person which has common history and bond with Turkish people regardless of having Turkish DNA, I couldn't disagree with you. Because, in this way, no one would hurt due to his/her race and ancestry. That is the very thing that our "constitution" trying to achieve.

@cansay5 I think we both are talking about different pieces of one issue. you are right too. the things you've mentioned liked honor killing and stuff are not Turkish at all. I know that. But not all Laz people have this kind of a culture. I know that there are non-Turkish Laz people who are living in Turkey but most of the Turkish people also call almost every Karadeniz person Laz which makes us argue rn I think. I was talking about the Karadeniz Turks.
so we are actually talking about different things. sorry if I offended you in any way. I got what you meant and you are right.

@moonchild0 In this case, would you ask those "Laz" people which are already Turkish, what does "cilvenoy" mean? Is that a Turkish thing?
Anyway, Turkey is wonderful place and has offer so many thing which foreigner couldn't understand entirely. And, I think you're right, too. Culture, food, language make us a united nation and it doesn't matter which race you are.
P.S. you don't need to apologise. That's allright.
You're younger than me. I can tell that much.

Wow what happened here lol 😅 I didnt read the argument, im just gonna answer the question:
Laz: We say “laz” to people who mostly lives in “karadeniz” region of turkey. They have stronger and a bit more different dialect than dialect of “Istanbul”. The people who lives in Karadeniz are usually very nice and have pure souls.
If you really want to categorize these people (i am not, but just pointing out the elephant in the room), you can say that they have strong dialect, and laz man usually tend to have bigger nose, very pure souls, and you can assume they are mostly fisherman. (Again, im not defending these stereotypes)
Kız: Girl.
Laz kızı: Daughter of someone who is “laz”(we can safely presume that she is from Karadeniz region of Turkey).
