is it ok to burp in public in India? I see a lot of Indians behave this way and just don't get it.

No its not okay. You'll be looked down and people will give you strange looks. Yes some old people don't mind burping in public. But its very rare.

Yes, you can burp in public to make others laugh.....lol... It's not rude if you burp in front of family and friends after taking a meal or in some other situations as it's considered a sign of appreciation, satiety and being well fed. But, burping in public may offend some people and it will not be considered an acceptable behavior in a society. You may be seen as uneducated and without good moral standards.

It depends. People burp in the house but not in restaurants, offices and other public places. But crowded roads are an exception. People do all kinds of things on crowded Indian roads.
