I heard that even if you've graduated from university, it's difficult to find employment recently. ?
If so, does it mean the same thing if I took out the という話?

@goldfloat As you may suppose, 最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいという話を聞きました and 最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいと聞きました which is excluded いう話を from the former sentence have the same meaning.

@goldfloat As you may suppose, 最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいという話を聞きました and 最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいと聞きました which is excluded いう話を from the former sentence have the same meaning.

という話 is being used to make a noun form.
If you removed it, it wouldn't become a sentence.
it's similar to "thing" of "I heard a thing that it's difficult".
In addition to this, we often use こと, の to the same purpose.
these are decent sentences.
最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいという話を聞きました。
最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいということを聞きました。
最近は大学を卒業しても就職が難しいというの聞きました。
