Japanophile sounds more distinguished. It has a positive nuance.
Weeaboo makes the person sound annoying. It can be used as an insult.
“Mr. Jordan is a Japanophile. He can read and write Japanese, and he has a large collection of posters from the Taisho era.”
“Madeline is such a weeaboo. She’s always watching anime and talking about Japan even though she doesn’t speak Japanese. She says she wants to go to Tokyo to meet a samurai.”

A Japanophile is someone who loves and studies Japanese culture and history.
Weeaboo is slang for someone who is obsessed with Japanese pop culture, mostly on a superficial (outside) level.
For example, a Japanophile might travel to Japan to visit famous shrines and historical locations. Or they might go there to experience Japanese cuisine and art.
A weeaboo just watches a lot of anime, plays JRPGs, and owns a lot of katanas. And goes around calling people "Baka!"
It's hard to explain. But calling someone a [culture]-phile is usually a compliment, and weeaboo is not.

Over the past 2 years, I went from being a weeaboo to being a Japanophile. I still definitely enjoy Japanese anime and their kawaii subculture, but I'm also very interested in learning and teaching Japanese, and eating Japanese food (I really wanna try okonomiyaki among other dishes if I get to go to Osaka) and marveling at their futuristic technology, and just overall gaining a deeper understanding of how they see the world, and reflecting on myself based on what I learn from them.
And I think that that's genuinely more culturally enriching than cosplaying and buying Hatsune Miku body pillows.

Japanophile is someone who love Japanese culture, people and/or history. They respect the culture and enthusiastically try to learn about the culture. This word has a positive vibe to it.
Weeaboo (original Japanese wanabe --> Wapanese --> Weeaboos *no source) is a non japanese person who is obsessed with Japanese culture, denounces their own culture and calls themselves japanese. They try to become Japanese by acting ridiculously and only understand Japanese culture on a superficial level.
From my research, a Japanophile is 親日, and a Weeaboo is almost like an Otaku (御宅) but WORSE
Hope that helps.
