and how come in the first place those 2 major parties established?

the 2 major parties of today have roots in the federalist and whigs during the creation the the United States as for the first part of the question you can watch this video (https://youtu.be/MwuFIJlY7fU) it explains the party swap that occurred after the Civil War

@ignoramous also, the republicans were not the whig party. The republicans simply replaced the whig party. The republicans wanted to abolish slavery for 2 reasons: economic and moral.
economically, they want to abolish slavery because white people needed jobs and due to slavery, some white people ended up unemployed due to slaves taking their jobs. Plus, there was competition between the north states and south states, the north wanted the south's economy to plummet.
Morally, republicans saw slavery as a violation of one's basic right to live life in a non-restrictive way. They understood that slavery was inherently racist and that forced labor was immoral.

@LeeroiV The lawyerish nerd in me feels compelled to correct a minor mistake: slavery is not inherently racist, as the origins of the words "ciao" (from Italian "sciavo" ("slave")) and "slav" (from Greek "Σκλάβος" ("slave")), and the rest of Mediterranean history show; it was racist in the Americas specifically because people tried to justify it through race.
I also feel compelled to clarify that this is not a defence of racism, slavery, or racial enslavement, but rather of the word "inherently" :).
