How rare are colored (green, grey or blue) eyes in Iran? Are they considered more beautiful? I've noticed that in some countries I've been to, light eyes are a really big deal. Is this true in Iran as well?

In America, the color of a person's eyes isn't very important and light eyes aren't necessarily prefered over brown eyes. Some of my friends in other countries, however, wear colored contacts to make their eyes more colorful and call more attention to this feature. Do people in Iran do this too?

In Iran fair skin and colored eyes (blue, green) are in the minority and the majority of population have dark (black or brown) eyes. so yes it's a big deal for many and considered more attractive, therefore many youth wear colored (blue ,green or gray) contacts to look more handsome.

I found a study performed in Tehran:
"Iris color was determined in 4,200 of the 4,230 participants.
The iris color was “medium brown” in 54.09% as the most prevalent color, and “grey or blue” in only 1.96% as the least prevalent one. The prevalence of “dark”, “light brown”, and “yellow or green” iris colors was 31.74% , 9.60% , and 2.56% (95% CI: 2.03% to 3.10%), respectively."

As you can see blue eyes form only 1.96% of the population, no wonder why from the rarest creatures we desire increase!

about blue or grey eyes, yes
but about green or light brown it isn't, they are still considered as beautiful colours but since many people have them, they aren't as loved as blue or grey
