Yes, this is correct, but you can omit "von ihr" here. The passive voice is where the originator of the action can remain unmentioned:
• Ihm wird ein Brief geschrieben.
Another option: with the expletive "es" (Vorfeld-es) at position 1:
• Es wird ihm ein Brief geschrieben.
