(This is a part of my senior thesis I'm writing now.
I would appreciate if you correct anything wrong in it.)
As many people have pointed out so far, being afraid of making mistakes and persisting in speaking perfect English like native English speakers are thought to be some of the reasons why Japanese people cannot speak English fluently compared to people in foreign countries. Therefore, it could be one of the solutions to give students opportunities to be exposed with varieties of English so that they can have flexible perspective on English and will not persist in perfect English.

My suggestions have ** on either side of the changes I would make:
