1. Like brian said, I would change the "the" to "a". "The" makes it sound like the official you are talking to should know what conference you are talking about.
Pronunciation: Your individual pronunciation of words is great. Nicely done! But make sure you're adding an "r" pronunciation at the end of "for".

Since the clerk won't know what conference you are attending, you should use the indefinite article, "a". ("the" と言ってしまうと相手が分かるはずことなので)
"To attend a conference. I'll be here for one week."
A - Why are you here.
B - To attend the conference.
A - The conference? What conference?
B - Uh, the conference that I'm going to.
A - Uh, OK. And how long will you be here?
B - I'll be here for one week.
