Sure, that's something normal to say. You could also say "I almost got lost finding the place." or "I almost got lost getting here."

@Madhu777 They all work, though sentence iii.) could be "Rural people are experts in farming activities.", meaning rural people in general. Both ways works.
For the cat/mouse, that's correct.

@Madhu777 They sound a bit awkward. I'd say "Most of them started late." and "He paid the electric bill late."
