Domande Inglese (Stati Uniti)
Is it possible that a native English speaker who lived in an English speaking country for 15 years has never used or even heard the phrasal verb "put sth off"?
I think it's a very common phrasal verb used in daily conversations so I was surprised to hear it. He's from Georgia (probably Japanese American but he hasn't made it public) and came to Japan about 10 years ago to study at a Japanese high school.

if you’re not referring to the phrase “put stuff off” then I haven’t heard it, but it is possible for him not to have heard that phrase, my parents are from Georgia, I’ve heard them say it before, but I’ve never used it personally, I rarely hear that phrase.

@CoolGuyLinus I meant put sth off as in postpone sth. I've got lots of friends from English speaking countries but I'm pretty sure it's used fairly commonly, and they're not old.
