@HJKim yeah its not necessarily benefiting,
for example if you friend have a problem, you can help him
JASON: oh men i got a big problem
YOU: OH dont worry, leave it to me, i can solve it
but in both cases isn't nesessary benefit for example, your boss can say to you, "JASON i leave more work for you"

when to use for and to
Use "to" when there is some kind of transfer happening or something is being moved from one place to another. "To" expresses direction.
Use "for" when something is being done to benefit something or someone else.
example:
"My friend brought lunch to me." (My friend physically carried the lunch and delivered it to me)
"My friend brought lunch for me." (My friend paid for my lunch because he wanted to do something nice for me)
example 2
"I made a quick phone call to my mom." (I called with the intention of speaking with my mom)
"I made a quick phone call for my mom." (My mom wasn't able to make the call so I made the call for her)

@albertpineda So if you leave something for somebody you're leaving it to benefit him or her whereas if you leave something to somebody you're not necessarily benefiting him or her?
