In your country, is ir regarded as "progressive" or "a brave act of feminism" that a woman openly says "men are all trash", "men are filthy as heck and are inherently inferior to women", or "all men are predestined to become wife beaters and rapists"?
Let me put this question in context: Where I live it is noticed that more and more women begin to openly advocate verbal hatred towards men on social media, who invented a whole new glossary for female and male, e.g. they routinely call men "despicable insect-like creatures" while women "fairies". They are doing this in the name of feminism, thus I wonder if the same is true in other countries, esp. in the western world.

first off, nobody says the second two, but some say “all men are trash”. it’s not viewed as particularly progressive or feminist, just a statement based on the experiences of many women.

Politics is full of coded language. Nobody says exactly what they mean, especially when making universal statements.

@moonglasses I would not say that most of them are doing this in the sake of feminism or progressivism, but rather blatantly stating their opinions based on past, usually bad, experiences which made them lost any hope and trust in men. I would like to discern that the empowerment women got from the feminist movement definitely made us more vocal about gender inequality. How one vocalize their stance on that inequality, is a matter of personal choice. There are women who decided to turn to hatred and despise men, while there are others who focused more on efforts that bring equality between genders. I think that verbal hatred towards men has already existed for a while (even before feminism became big in my country), it’s just that it was more concealed from the (patriarchal) public. Social media definitely had a great impact on how we view the severity of this kind of hatred, as it’s more easy to document verbal harassment, and anonymity made it became easier for people to harass others.
Also, there are definitely people who identified as “feminists” who do act like this, or should I say, a “neo feminist”. Neo feminism is definitely NOT feminism in any sense. Hope this helps

When women say "men are trash" normally they are actually referring to the patriarchy and systems that let men get away with abusing women. I'm sure some of them are referring to each individual man, but typically it's a generalizing used to express frustration. Don't take it personally. I'm a guy and I've never taken it personally
