I want to have an English name started with Y because my Chinese name is pronounced like [ jiu: han]. The options: Yedda, Ysabel, Yeva, which one is better, or is there any much better choices? Thank you.

I think they're all pretty. Names starting with "Y" are usually uncommon. Most of the time, they're foreign. I think of Japanese names lol.

Some other options:

1.) Yasmine/Yazmine/Yasmin/Yasmeen
2.) Yvonne (sounds a bit ... elderly, uncommon to hear with younger people) -
3.) Yara (like the actress)
4.) Yolanda (sounds a bit ... adult-ish, uncommon to hear with younger people)
5.) Yvette (cool, I suppose...)

Personally, my favorite name on this list is "Yara" or any of the Yasmine variations. I also like "Ysabel".

But I think you could make any name work!

@EmmaL404NOTFOUND I think it all boils down to personal preference, but if you are going for a more common, young-sounding name, I would recommend Yasmine (or any other variations, but beware that people may misspell your name quite often if you’re going with the variations, coming from someone whose friend is named Yasmeen)
Ysabel, Yvette and Yvonne gives off elegant vibes for me. But I think Ysabel is the only one that gives a young impression out of the three
Another name that I could think of is Yulia. I think all of the options sounds pretty and feminine, so all of them would work if that’s what you’re going for.
