I find that some American movies have simple names. For example, The Terminal. Don't you think it's confusing? How do you know the main idea about these movie?

A few words often does tell about the movie. A terminal is either a place where you take public transportation or keyboard you can use to access a computer. Probably #1 in this case.
Just knowing the setting or the main character lets me know a little bit about the story. If I want to know more, I can always read a summary.

Wouldn't a movie title be very long if it gave you the main idea? it would be like "Foreign man has to live in airport for weeks"

That makes sense. But I mean they can make the title a bit clear, so there will be less misunderstanding.

@Audrey2021 I don't think that's really the point of the title. It gives you SOME idea, but not all of it otherwise I think it may give away the whole plot
