Can you explain this translation?

이 와중에 살길 찾는 거 봐.
The caption says it means:
"Look at you thinking of a way out."

I don't really understand it. I understand the "찾는 거 봐" part, but I can't figure out what 와중에 means or 살길.

살길 literally means way to be alive(way out ) 와중에 means while
나는 밥을 먹는 와중에 잔다
i fall asleep while im eating

Hi I think it is not written in the sentence as you said. But I believe that sentence must be better understood if you add "이 와중에." I assume that that person was in a bad or urgent situation, so s/he is not expected to think of a way out, which he is doing. That is why "이 와중에" is added.
