It's colder than cool. sembra naturale?

I've made another.
"It's cold rather than cool."
I wonder what I should say in such a situation.

文法は間違っていないけど、どういったシチュエーションかよく想像できません。さらに言えば、二番目の文章は少し偉そうな感じがしますね。

少し状況を説明して頂けませんか？

離れたところに住んでいる人に、今日は涼しいというより、寒いくらいです、というのを伝えたいのですが。

私なら、「It's colder than I thought (it would be)」(思ったより寒いですね。)とかのほうが自然な言い方だと思います。全ては場合によりますけどね。
