Both religions have been coexisting in India for about a thousand years now. On the ground level, there is negligible amount of any so called "tension". Any conflict is resolved through peaceful ways such as village elders or panchayats. Only in extremely dire situations is the police involved.

But the sad thing in our country is the media, which will do anything to get a "spicy" story for their viewers. As a result, even a minor issue is escalated far beyond it should ever have, due to negative reporting and provocations on both sides.

All in all, both groups live peacefully here. But political groups try to follow the age old British tactic of "divide and rule".

So, next time you hear or read about a conflict between the groups, know that it is an isolated incident and doesn't mean that it happens all over the country everytime.
