When I think of "temple" I imagine a much larger, more decorated building than a shrine. I picture a shrine as a small, humble building. However, when referring to certain things it depends for example, it is a Shinto shrine and a Buddhist temple, not the other way around even though the words are similar

Thank you for answering. and sorry fo my late reply.
Why I asked was that I don't think the word "shrine" is used for only Shinto shrine,
because Shinto is so minor religion in the world.
When Do I use the word "shrine" to discribe other religion's facility?

I've never seen one myself, but some Japanese homes have a mini shrine in their house yes? The shrines of other religions are kind of like that. It will be a small thing like that, normally dedicated to a specific God/deity/person. You will find them inside religious buildings such as a Catholic Church, Jewish temple or mosque. There are also some Catholic shrines that are big outdoor areas dedicated to someone. For example near where I live there is a shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima (it's a Portuguese name).
To make it simple, shrines are mostly found INSIDE religious buildings, and look like the shrines found inside some Japanese homes. Hope that helped!
