Hi guys!
I'm currently living in Frankfurt and having 4 free days I'd like to explore Germany a bit. Here's my doubt: going to Hamburg (2 days), Lübeck (1 day) and Kiel (1 day) to better discover the North or going to Köln (1 day), Düsseldorf (1 day) and Hamburg (2 days)? Bear in mind I'll move by flixbus/flixtrain.
Thank you in advance! Tschüss!

That depends on what you want to see or explore.
The North is often cold and windy at this time of the year (with a lot of rain), but there is a lot too see (especially in Hamburg), some would also say that people in the North are a bit "cold" and "do not like to talk a lot" (but as someone from the north I would say that depends, as I am personally very talkative).
Hamburg is the second largest city in Germany (with a population of around 1.85 million) and the Port of Hamburg is one of the largest cargo handling ports in the world. The Speicherstadt and the neighbouring Kontorhaus district have been part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 2015. Other well-known cultural monuments and landmarks are Hamburg City Hall and the five main churches. The cityscape is also characterised by its many clinker brick facades and its proximity to water with numerous rivers, lakes and canals. The St. Pauli entertainment district with the Reeperbahn and the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, which opened in 2017, are also internationally renowned.
Kiel is located on the Baltic Sea (Kiel Fjord) and is the final point of the busiest artificial waterway in the world. Kiel is characterised by its proximity to the sea and has several beaches. Kiel is famous for Kiel Sprotten, a type of herring, smoked gold (often caught in the Eckernförde Bay and packed in small wooden boxes in Eckernförde for sale and shipping).
The Hanseatic City of Lübeck, is a large city in the north of Germany and in the south-east of Schleswig-Holstein on the Bay of Lübeck, an inlet of the Baltic Sea. The preserved areas of Lübeck's historic centre with over a thousand cultural monuments have been part of the UNESCO World Heritage since 1987.
So if you like the sea, ports/harbours, a lot of history and not to much talking, the North is great.
The city is one of the most important tourist destinations in Europe, above all because of the important Cologne Cathedral and its Romanesque churches as well as other medieval monuments, over 2000 years of city history, significant events and its cultural and culinary heritage.
Düsseldorf also enjoys fame for its old town ("longest bar in the world"), its shopping boulevard Königsallee ("Kö"). Other attractions are numerous museums and galleries as well as the Rhine promenade and the modern media harbour. Remarkable is the large number of East Asian residents, including the Japanese community with over 8400 inhabitants, which forms the largest Japanese community in Germany and the only Japantown in Germany.
So if you like culture and religious history, maybe this would be a great choice.
