Hi. I have some questions about the Indian movie, 'The Lunchbox(2013)'.
1. Is this movie popular and famous in India?
2. In this movie, a main male character uses both Hindi(I guess it's Hindi) and English when he speaks with other Indians in the same scene. Is it common for Indians to use both Hindi and English when talking with the same person?
3. Do most Indian workers eat lunchbox at work? Is eating out rare? How about a lunchroom? Is it common or rare for Indian companies to have lunchrooms that serve lunch for their employees?

The movie is very well known in India. It is critically acclaimed movie, which is also recognised around the world. It may not be a massive success in monetary terms but has gained recognition.
It is very common for Indians, especially urban educated to converse simultaneously in both languages.
Indians prefer to eat homemade food as the other options are either unhealthy or expensive.
Indian companies do have lunch rooms, but employees prefer home food if they have an option. Also, given the diversity of Indian food, the taste pallet of Indians sometimes get extra choosy and reject a (sub)standardised (in a negative way - like industrialised) taste of cafeteria (canteen as we call it) food. Wherever cafeterias offer good quality, people do eat there.

@WorkhardPlayharder I personally don't think that it's a specially a lot more popular movie than others here in India, but it seems that it's fairly well-known to the Koreans who're interested in Indian movies. I've seen some Korean YouTubers introducing the film as a very good Indian movie. I saw many Koreans leave favourable comments about it.
Since I'm a student, I don't know exactly how common it is for Indian companies to have their own canteen, but it's very common for Indians to eat homemade food for lunch.
I'm curious. Are there many Korean people who're interested in Indian movies?

@Proud2beIndian Thank you for your response.
As compared with Holleywood movies, I think Indian movies haven't been well-known yet to the general public in Korea. But we know that India's film industry is very advanced. Some Indian movies are so popular in Korea that many Koreans know them. Also, there are some Koreans who are big fans of various Bollywood movies. Many Koreans find Indian culture unique and interesting because it's very different from ours in many aspects. So, it's common for Koreans go backpacking to India and I think the number of the Koreans watching and enjoying Indian movies will keep increasing.
'The Lunchbox' is one of those acclaimed Indian movies by Koreans because it shows well the life of ordinary Indian people and the feelings they have. We like this kind of movie a lot more than the ones with lots of sudden group dancing scenes. 😅
