‘Confetture.. se non conosci questa parola, la parole più normale è marmaletta’ - this was translated as ‘Jams.. if you don’t know this word, the more normal (common) word is Jam’. Firstly, is this translation accurate? And secondly I would have thought ‘sai’ would have fit better instead of ‘conosci’? Thanks:)

It’s actually: “Confettura… se non conosci questa parola, la parola più comune/la parola più usata è marmellata”.
Confettura and marmellata = singular.
Confetture/marmellate = plural.

And the sentence is correct either if using “conosci” or “sai”. I’d say “sai” it’s a little bit more informal than “conosci”, but both are good!
