I'm a student with I think good grades and It's not the best system, we have some stupid things but I think no system of education in the world is perfect. My teachers said for example that old textbooks compared to the more recent ones were better so change not always is better :)

I wish we had more creative lessons, even in highschool.
Nowadays, children and people in general develop only the left part of their brains...

Oh, my... I've been one of the top students ever since primary school and I can tell you one thing - huge waste of time. After primary school fewer and fewer skilled teachers taught me (my chemistry teacher at juniour high... Yh. He caused small explosion while making an ester. Fortunately, nothing bad happened, yet it's pretty stupid to heat it all up when everything says not to). But about waste of time... 2x Religion (well, christianity) classes per week. There are also such subjects as arts, music, "zajęcia artystyczne" (usually pretty much the same as arts or music), WOK and probably some more subjects that depend on individual preference. Like "technika classes". (All those are on different years, so it isn't like we have them all at once).
There are also some other issues arising from this - not many people are likely to learn anything unless their teachers were good ones. To avoid holes in the knowledge, many people decide to attend private tutorial, which often costs money. For many, it's impossible to learn how to use English just at school.
There are more issues with it all, yet it doesn't mean it's all bad... It just means that it doesn't understand how to work with human brain.
And one thing to add - I have and I had some good teachers, it's only that they are outnumbered by rather... Well. Not so good ones.
About art classes - I consider them a waste of time because we ( I and my classmates) were always doing some works for some competitions...So, you were drawing the very same thing each year. Our teacher also couldn't tell us anything about the materials, which was a tragedy. I still don't get why she had ordered us to sketch with 6B pencils... It's way easier to do so with HB or B pencil. Maybe 2B. (At least for kids who use eraser a lot).
EDIT: It also should be pointed out, that many things shouldn't be blamed on a teacher. Curriculum also plays a major role in it all... It's prett complex issue I guess.

I completely agree with @mllorei . What's more they teach us theory but don't show how to use our knowledge in daily life. Let's take for example English lessons, in my class we just learn vocabulary and grammar but speaking is necessary! When to my school came a teacher from the UK to prepare us for a job interview in English she was astonished with our lack of speaking skills. And in case of teachers, in my opinion their knowledge is just what is written in the text books we use, no more than that. I have asked my teachers many times about things they should know (it is obvious you should know it if you have a degree in certain field of study) but they have never given me a proper answer. Some teachers are wise but they are not able to pass information in an understandable way.
But on the other hand, I think that one of the biggest disadvantages of Polish schools is that we have mixed ability classes which is not good for anyone, neither for students nor teachers. Distinguished students can not develop their skills and at the same time, there are no remedy classes for those who do badly at school.

Why are you guys complaining so badly?
As you can see a big part of our society likes to grumble about everything. But the fact is that Poland takes 11 place among other countries with the highest education level. The truth is that we don't have to learn much in primary school, in junior high school more, but in high school we spend a lot of time studying if we want to entry a good university.
The only bad thing is that there is pretty too much useless stuff we have to study. In my opinion it's just a big waste of time.

We don't use creative thinking at all. Instead we must learn how to answer questions correctly and yes, only one way, other ideas and points of view are incorrect.

Oh, there are lots of things that should be changed. For example school is killing creative thinking. All is going to exams system, doing some shitty tests that are doing nothing for us. We are learning some not important things, something that will never be used by us. There aren't any lessons about cooking (if you aren't in gastronomic school), sexuality (despite period and humans' body building) and things like that. But I should say also that we have good teaching languages. Despite this that there's not a lot of speaking classes, so we can undersand a lot more than we can say or write.
System is changing now, but I know only that there won't be gimnazjum (middle school) so primary school and high school will be longer. Now I don't care about it because I'm in high school so I am in this old system tho.

Now the system is changing for worse. Before there was quite good, not perfect but good.

It could be MUCH better. Public schools are nul. Teachers usually have everything in their.. Eh, nevermind. So, if you'd like to go to school in Poland, I recommend a Private school ;) (they are much better)

Well, I think our education system is really terrible. We learn a lot of unnecessary stuff and as @salviaplath said, we don't use creative thinking at all, we must learn only definitions from books.

our education system is one big shit. I am i high school now and I think this is waste of time. For example WOK. Really? I'm sure I don't want to learn about music, art, because I had it in middle school. Religion 2h in week since junior school. I've had history for 7 years and I don't know anything. I think one language is enough, meanwhile I have to learn English and German. I really hate German. My brother is 10 and he has German and English too. Education system in Poland is such a waste of time

In my opinion the biggest problem about education system in Poland is fact that it doesn't develop ones creativity. I can even say that school declines our creativity. Also nobody shows us how to be critic. And even constructive criticism is often taken as a bad thing. We are learnt how to be blindly obedient. Maybe it is not strictly fault of the education system, but i think it is a big problem in polish schools.

It's obvious that you need a good teacher to learn something, but your education is your choice. You can choose whichever school you want! You can go to Politechnika's high school or technical school. It's upto you. I'm sure that polish system of education is on high level. I've heard that from many different people. They study abroad and see the intellectual difference. Maybe there is now that kind of affair about changing three years middle schools into eight years elementary and four years high school, but generations before the middle school reform grew up great, smart people, who are now our parents. I think that this is the polish mentality that we have to always complain.
