if you mean the city as opposed to the state, nyc is more socially progressive and has a handful of the few remaining lesbian bars in the US, so i’m sure there are a fair amount of out lesbians there. but a higher population of out queer/lgbt people is typical of a big city, i have not heard that nyc stands out considerably among other major US cities in this sense

There is a lot of every kind of person in New York. It is the biggest and probably the most diverse city in the US. They often have more people of a given nationality than the biggest city in that nation.

Since I'm not American, I have no idea if it's true. But if it's true, I think it's a good thing because it means that NYC is a very socially progressive/acceptable and diverse place as other American users said. There is nothing wrong with being LGBTQ+.

There are plenty of LGBTQ+ people in New York, just like there are in all parts of the world, including Russia.

Big cities tend to me more diverse and progressive, so there are more out lesbians than some might be used to.

@AnastasiaKat not as many as there are in Portland. New York has a lot of lesbians because its a huge city, but its not something its really known for
