"I held up my end" - I kept my promise, I followed through on my part of the deal.
"Boo-hoo" - meant to be the sound of someone crying. Here it's used sarcastically. Means the speaker doesn't think his/her situation is that bad compared to his own.

Your friend has one final test (最終試験) tomorrow, but you have three.
He complains to you: "Oh my god, I have a big test, it's horrible, I have no time, my life sucks."
Your reply could be "Boo-hoo. I have three!" or "Cry me a river, I have three!"
Oftentimes people will insert the word "fucking" in between. So, "boo-fucking-hoo..." "cry me a fucking river".

Hahaha, well, Americans use it a lot to intensify any statement (from my experience Brits tend to use "bloody" in similar contexts). I could literally add the word to every clause in that complaint above:
"Oh my fucking god, I have a big fucking test, it's fucking horrible, I have no fucking time, my life fucking sucks."
And yes, people actually do talk like this (sometimes) when they're really stressed out.

Right. And at the same time, I actually think it's pretty important to know how people use that word because it's so common in any informal English context. Especially among young people.

Just to chime in on "fuck", keep in mind this is extremely informal.
Some popular examples that may help give context to this ... flavorful word:
OMFG: oh my fucking god
Ex:
"She said you were ugly."
"OMFG I can't believe that!"
WTF: What the fuck? (very popular, you will hear this all the time in America)
Ex:
"I forgot to bring the money I owe you."
"What the fuck!? You said you'd bring it today!"
This is very slangy but also very common. As qzlau aptly mentioned, we Americans tend to use it to give more impact to the statement.
You'll come to find that "fuck" is a VERY versatile word in American English.
