What are your reactions when you see that some people fetishise you and your culture, language, country? Are you mad or sad? Or when girls want to date a Korean guy because of Kpop boygroups? And finally what are your thoughts about Kpop in general? Do you think that it helps your country for development or thus doesn't help at all?
Sorry for all these questions ๐ I'm pretty curious! Thank you for your answers !

I'm also curious ๐ค there are plenty of people getting mad at cultural appropriation about korea (which I can understand) but they are not even korean

It's quite interesting that I've seen a poll (or research?) which says Asian guys are the least attractive to girls in Western countries. I don't feel sad or mad it's just weird to me. I just feel bad for her cause that is not love. If she dates a Korean guy cause She likes Kpop and he is just Korean, That means she doesn't love him. It doesn't make any sense.
I personally don't like or hate Kpop. But I'm glad that Kpop makes Korea much more popular. You know, Korea is not a big, influential country compared to Japan and China. At least Korea is globally known by Kpop. + Kim Jong Un ๐

@Virtuoso Of course it's not love ๐ the girl who say that is just petty..
But I heard that some people didn't like foreigners coming to korea.
Like as long as they're just visiting it's okay, but they didn't like foreigner moving to korea

@j-aya I'm half Korean but it makes me so mad when people start liking someone for their nationality, they don't even care about their personality etc. But I'm still mad when people appropriate a culture that is not their.

@phakeujung of course I understand what you're saying, don't worry :)
I don't know if my case is similar but I'm arab and people are like starting getting henna and other stuff because it's "so cool" when I was called dirty for getting one in the past
I just think that some people are overreacting with cultural appropriation. Just because someone is learning a language doesn't mean he's approprating ๐

@j-aya Oh really? Maybe because they think foreigners steal their employment opportunity? I am Korean but I have no idea at all lol

@Virtuoso Asian guys are really gaining popularity in Western countries. I understand that but it makes me feel so frustrated when I see people doing this and they don't even understand what's wrong about this ๐ฉ
Korea is being so loved by manyyy people who really like the culture and the coutry ! I'm happy because even if i'm not full Korean i love the fact that people love this beautiful country !

@j-aya Yea i understand like wearing an hijab when you're not muslim because "it looks good" when actual muslims are killed for their religion๐. But learning a language is not cultural appropriation. Cultural appropriations is when people who aren't in this culture use it for looks etc. For exemple when you're not black and you're wearing cornrows braids, when you're not Indian and you wear a bindi, it's more things like that.

@phakeujung yea that is cultural appropriation but most of people do not stop there lol
- Paese o regione Francia
@Virtuoso maybe, but I heard that many times that's why I was concerned

@Virtuoso But height is changing though. I am 174cm tall but many Asian male students in the high school I work at are taller than me by the time they are 15 years old. Some are even taller than me when they are 12!
Built body = so hard!!! I train 6 days a week but am still have a long way to get the abs I want ๐ช
We dated of course. What I meant was that we did not start seeing each other because he wanted to be with an Australian woman or I wanted to be with a Japanese man. We just dated because we were sexually attracted to each other, we liked each others personality, we had a good time together and we stimulated each other intellectually. That is all I meant.
For me the most important thing in a long term relationship is intellectual stimulation - physical attraction is important but I don't think it can make a relationship last. Sometimes I want to debate politics or current events (not all the time) so it is important they can have this type of conversation. I have realised not all people can do this! So when some people want to date others because they are a particular race I don't understand it. Unless both can speak one common language well I wonder how they think it will last.
Race is not important. All races are attractive in different ways it is the person that counts.
What do you think is most important?

@Virtuoso No my mom didn't teach me Korean since we live in France and we only talk French in my house

@harkbel I know right? Most of my friends are over 175cm. Over 175cm is not that small I think. Actually I don't worry about my height cause I'm over 180cm so I won't be in trouble because of my height. I'm not trying to be cocky tho ahahahaha
Aha! Now I understand. Yeah that is right thing. The most important thing is seeing people as them not just their ethnicity or nationality. Preference and fantasizing is a little bit different I think.
Intellectual stimulation hahaha it sounds so hard to me! tbh I've never been in reltaionship before so I don't know much about it very well. But in my opinion, compatibility is quite important. You know, like how are we great match? In other words, Personality is very important. I'm not saying appearance and physical trait don't matter. It's just personality is much more important than those things. Afterall beauty and attractive physical trait will disappear but good personality doesn't. So, if she is good enough, her ethnicity and nationality are not a big deal. And my dad was like "Marry with foriegn girls!" I don't know he is serious or not tho XD I have no idea I am making sense but I hope you understand what I'm saying.

@phakeujung Your mom is Korean and she speaks only French in your home?? Woah your mom must be like native in French. Do you feel bad that your mom doesn't teach you Korean when you were very young?

@Clausuca They are not rude. They are just far beyond the level of "being rude" ๐๐๐ They are just uneducated idiots. Or sociopaths. Hmm, at least let's be positive. You could screen those idiots out easily. I feel bad for you and your boyfriend tho. I hope you guys have a happy marriage life ๐

@Virtuoso Yes she speak very well french. She came in France at 26, she's now 45 so she is fluent in French ! Sometimes it makes me sad when i want to speak with my korean cousins and i can't understand what they are talking about ๐ That's why i'm learning Korean !
