Drama.
I thought it's quite alright to say 'drama' as in 'TV series' like Game of Thrones.
But an English guy corrected me when I called Peep Show drama. He told me it was a comedy series. Yes I know the word 'drama' also means like... how do I say? 'emotional event'? But would you assume that I mean that way when I randomly say Eastenders is a drama? Don't you assume I meant it as 'A set of consecutive fictional TV shows'? (Idon't even know this sounds natural but that's not the problem here. Is it?)

That is true, but...
When we classify TV shows we usually say the most recognisable aspect. So EastEnders would be called a "soap" rather than a drama.
